Brief History of Priority Africa Network:
In April 2003, a group of Bay Area individuals and organizations came together under the umbrella name
“Priority Africa Network.”

Recognizing that historically Africa has never been top agenda to the US, PAN addresses the urgent need to prioritize our work around issues of social and economic justice in Africa.  PAN’s mission reflects the unifying values and principles of our members to maximize our collective force to advocate for change in Africa by organizing regionally in the Bay Area, working in collboration with our partners nationwide.

The organization was built on the foundations of solidarity in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa.  We continue on the vision of perpetuating that movement for justice by bringing positive images and messages about Africa/Africans and building rew relations with the diaspora.
